Making leaders

Middle and high school students have been participating in Sports Ministry these past 7 weeks. It doesn’t matter if you are athletic or not, you participate and are included. You will feel part of a group who wants to build up each other. If you walk in the gym, you will see children of various ages and size. You will also see every child involved and every child giving and receiving encouragement. Encouragement not only from their coaches, but also their peers.

A prayer of Coach Bridges for the students is that “kids are not co-dependent on us, but to become independent in Christ.” He wants them to go back to school having similarities to Christ and to look for those similarities in others. His hope is that through prayer, leaders are built. Leaders that will come back to Mission First and invest in students just as others have done for them.

When you step on campus at Mission First, you can immediately see the joy of the Lord. You feel the love of Christ by those you meet. “By this all people will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." John 13:35
